Mother-daughter song team Patricia Lou Harris and Terri Thurman Finck have
released four children’s song albums: Galliump!, Galliump! Folk Songs
and New Favorites, Galliump Lullabies, and their newest album,
Galliump! Around the World. The first three albums were named winners of the
2003 Parents Guide Media Awards.
Galliump
Lullabies was named an Outstanding Product in 2007 i-Parenting Media Awards
while Galliump! won that same award in 2005. Galliump Lullabies
was also named a Best Album for Babies and
Toddlers in the 2006 Children’s Music Web Awards. In that same contest the song
“Sea Biscuit” was named a Best Song for Older Children while “Galliump!” was
named a Best Song for Pre-School Children. Numerous individual songs from the
albums have won Best Children’s Song of the Year for four years in Portland
Songwriters’ National Song Contest.
The mother-daughter
team, Pat Harris and Terri Finck, co-writes a number of their songs while
writing other songs individually. Living in different towns they collaborate by
phone, internet, and by frequent get-togethers.
The ladies perform
their songs and dances for children in interactive shows in schools, libraries,
and book stores. Children are invited to sing along, act out humorous songs
with animal puppets, perform easy dances, and play rhythm instruments.
Terri Finck is the
main performer and principal artist on all the albums, assisted by other
outstanding musicians. Her mom Pat assists during shows with dance steps,
instruments, and puppetry. Terri’s beautiful singing voice and her magic rapport
with children are making her a much sought-after children’s performer!
The song team, Pat
and Terri, recently completed filming all the music segments (using their
Galliump music) for a television series for children, “Mother Goose and
Friends”, a two-year project produced by Klamath Community Television, Klamath
Falls, Oregon. The series has won several national awards and may eventually be
aired on public television.
Both ladies strongly
believe that high quality children’s music impacts children profoundly. Recent
brain development research is actually proving that regular music involvement
can increase cognitive learning and overall intelligence in young children and
older children as well. In addition, good music speaks to the soul, furnishing
avenues for creativity and a love for life!

with her daughter. She also teaches private piano and music classes in her home

pipe organ.
